The HEIDENHAIN ND 523 (IdNr: 532 523-01) is a digital readout (DRO) display unit for positional measurement and coordinate display in manual machine tools. Part of the ND 500 series, this console accepts encoder input from linear or rotary scales and presents axis position data on a rectangular LCD screen. The wedge-shaped housing features a membrane keypad with numeric entry (0–9, decimal, pi, Enter, C), three orange soft-key buttons below the display, directional arrow keys, and a column of function icons (axis selection, incremental/absolute mode, measurement functions) with corresponding grey soft-keys along the left edge.
